St. Luke Summer Camp

LOCATION and DATE
Shocco Springs, Talladega, Alabama (CST)- Friday, June 17th – Monday, June 20th 2022 (www.shocco.org)
We were looking to update locations and this was the only available date for our numbers.

MEMBER/NON-MEMBER COST
Campers/CITS – $350 for members and $400 for non-members
Senior Counselors – $100 activity fee (Transportation, room and board are free)
Adult volunteers are free

EARLY BIRD PRICING
Until April 15th, $350 for members and $400 for non-members
After April 16th, $400 for members and $450 for non-members

REFUND POLICY
Cancellations after June 1st will incur a $150 cancellation fee subtracted from your registration cost.

AGES
Campers – Completed 3rd – 6th grade, CIT’s – Completed 7th-8th, Senior Counselors – Completed 9th – 12th

LIMITED SPACE PER GRADE
We will open camper space per grade by gender incrementally based on the Adult and Senior Counselor volunteers we have signed up. A waitlist will be set-up until we secure the needed volunteers for camp.

TRANSPORTATION
K & S Transportation will provide transport to and from Shocco Springs for $100 roundtrip.
Adult and Senior Counselors will ride on the charter bus with the campers and CIT’s.
One bus will transport girls and the other boys, 95% of campers sign-up to ride the bus.

RECOMMENDATIONS
CIT’s/Senior Counselors are responsible for providing 1 church member and 1 teacher rec, due 4/30.
Links are included on SLSC online applications and can be texted or emailed to specific individuals.
Once the recommendations are submitted they are sent directly via email to the Camp Director.
Interviews will be conducted by the Camp Director prior to camp.

ACTIVITIES
Shocco Springs spans over 800 acres and offers 40+ activities at their retreat. Here is a sample of what they offer; covered outdoor basketball courts, 9 hole putt putt course, fishing, paddle boards, 2 gaga ball courts, pedal boats, two 4 square courts, paintball, bazooka ball, 7 hiking trails that range in difficulty, playground, ropes course, flag football, swimming pool, 2 grass volleyball courts, high rope course, tennis, large inflatable aqua water park on lake, outdoor pavilions, 150ft wet willie water slide, 24ft rock wall, milk crate tower climb, giant swing, canoes, horseshoes, low ropes course, zip-line, 4 campfire locations, ping pong, adrenaline jump, corn hole, day and night time activities and more! *some activities have weight and age restrictions, in addition, we will have a limited number of activities that we will be able to participate in based on time.

ACCOMODATIONS
Bed sheets and towels are not provided. Each grade/gender will sleep separately with their CIT, Senior Counselor and adult in bunk beds. Cabins are air conditioned and provide separated sleeping wings with a central conference room and dormitory style bathrooms in each wing.

SUPERVISION
SLSC will have a 5:1 ratio of campers to adults. Each crew will contain 5 campers, 1 CIT, 1 Senior Counselor and 1
Adult. There are over 40 lifeguards on staff and most activities require Shocco Springs staff to supervise and organize.
