We Hope You Will Join Our Family!
Church membership ensures that St. Luke Church will support your long-term faith journey as a Christian and provide you the support of a loving, nurturing community. As a member, you can support that community through your prayers, presence, gifts and service.
Below you will find information about becoming a member and the support you will receive upon joining our church family. For any questions or to get started, please contact Rev. Thad Haygood at 706.327.4343.
You may become a part of the St. Luke family of God in one of the following ways:
1. If you have never joined a church before, you may become a member by profession of faith in Jesus Christ and by being baptized. If you have already been baptized (as a child or as an adult) in a Christian Church, your baptism is recognized by St. Luke. You will be asked to uphold St. Luke Church with your prayers, presence, gifts, service, and witness.
2. If you are a member of another Christian denomination, indicate to one of the pastors that this is your desire. St. Luke will then transfer your membership.
3. If you have any questions about faith in Christ, about Wesleyan theology and doctrine in general or St. Luke in particular, please ask one of the pastors!
New Members join the St. Luke family during our Sunday morning worship service at 8:30, 9:00 or 11:00 a.m. The invitation to join is issued at the end of the worship service. You will join the minister near the altar to receive the Vows of Membership. At the end of the service the congregation will have an opportunity to welcome you to St. Luke!
