Someone to Listen and Care
We believe that compassion is a tremendous healer. When people are touched by the kind of compassion and care that only comes through the love of Jesus Christ, they will experience a hope that makes life seem a little easier, a little more worthwhile. Our Pastoral Care and Counseling programs bring people together in compassion to heal and grow.
Hospital Visitation
Our pastoral staff are available to visit and pray with those who are in the hospital (where hospital regulations allow) and to visit with people in their homes. To request a visit from our staff, please contact Maggie Roberson at 706-327-4343.
Funerals/Memorial Services
The death of a loved one can be an overwhelming time not only in terms of coping with grief but also in regard to dealing with many necessary details. The clergy, staff and volunteers at St. Luke Church are available to guide and support families through the many decisions that result from this life event. We help create meaningful services that provide peace and comfort while honoring the life of your loved one. St. Luke has rooms available to host receptions and visitations before or after the services as well.
To take the first step in making memorial service arrangements, please contact Maggie Roberson at 706-327-4343.
Bereavement Ministry
The Bereavement Ministry committee is here to reach out to families when a church member has died. They greet attendees at funerals, deliver meals to the deceased’s families, and generally ensure that there is a warm and welcoming atmosphere for the memorial service, funeral or reception.
Prayer Shawl Ministry
St. Luke volunteers make prayer shawls and which are then delivered to individuals in the hospital and those at home who are ill as a reminder that they are being remembered in prayer.
Gabriel’s Gowns
The mission of Gabriel’s Gowns Ministry is to show the love of Christ to parents as they grieve the loss of a newborn child. Handsewn gowns and carved wooden crosses in a keepsake box are supplied to local hospitals, funeral homes and individuals as an outpouring of God’s love, comfort and peace from our Christian family. Our team of volunteers has hand sewn hundreds of gowns since the program began in 2021.
Counseling
Our pastoral staff is available to counsel and pray with those who are in need. To request a counseling session with our staff, please contact Maggie Roberson at 706-327-4343.
